I live in Minneapolis with my wife, two kids (a daughter who is 11 and son who is 14), and family dog.

I have been earning a living as a writer for nearly thirty years, currently obsessing on personal development across a wide continuum—from the role of school in the development of my kids to my own efforts at self-optimization.

I am able to draw on a very varied background in my writing, including stints as: child model, ski bum, world traveler, pizza delivery savant, television researcher and segment producer, early-days blogger, freelance journalist, author, sales and marketing executive, rodeo clown student, entrepreneur, foster parent, and on and on.
